Love Month: Chatham Manor

Summary

On this week’s episode we are talking about the White Lady of Chatham Manor in virginia. It’s a short, sweet story. Chatham Manor has seen a lot of horror with slavery, a slave rebellion, and the civil war, even being used as a battlefield hospital but the story of the white lady has endured as the most popular ghost story at Chatham Manor.

The Don CeSar Hotel

Summary

On this week’s episode I’m starting off the ghostly love stories with the story of the Don CeSar  Hotel in St. Pete, Florida. This is probably the sweetest, most romantic story of the bunch. It’s a story of star crossed young lovers who never forgot about each other, and the giant pink hotel that was built because of it. — Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/myhauntedlife/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/myhauntedlife/support

Resurrection Mary Part 4

This week I’m finishing off the Resurrection Mary episodes. I have Tony Szabelski on from Chicago Hauntings. Tony was the nice gentleman that helped up with the Kean Ave Werewolf research. We are discussing what it like being a ghost tour leader in Chicago and in particular the Archer Triangle and we also discuss one of the most famous and mysterious Mary case, the one with the Resurrection Cemetery gates. And of course, a little more about Chicago’s other haunted locations.

So lets get into shall we? Grab yourself a cup of tea, make sure the doors are locked and the sage is close by. I have a story to tell you.

This week on the podcast we continue the month of Haunted Dolls with another of the most infamous, Annabelle. This sweet little Ragged Anne Doll has caused a lot of trouble. She tormented nurses, terrified priests, and even almost killed Ed and Lorraine Warren. — Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/myhauntedlife/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/myhauntedlife/support

The Archer Triangle, Part 3 of the Resurrection Mary Saga

This week we are going back to Chicago and I’m going to tell you about all the weird things that surround Resurrection Cemetery and our girl Mary. This area has been dubbed the Archer Triangle. Of course our girl is the most famous entity but there was so much it needed it’s own episode. We are talking ghosts and gangsters, monks and demons, werewolves and nuclear bombs. Also one of the strangest and saddest true crime stories that I have ever read, that shook the country and even got Elvis involved.

So lets get into shall we? Grab yourself a cup of tea, make sure the doors are locked and the sage is close by. I have a story to tell you.

Christmas Witches

This week I’m doing an episode inspired by my friends Andrew and Chris at Cronk Art and Curiosities. They were recently traveling in Europe, Italy in particular, and ended up at Christmas Market. As their story goes, they were wandering the stalls and they came across this table of nutcrackers and santas and at the end of the table were a bunch of witches and they had to buy me one. I lost my mind and got really excited for my little La Befana so I thought a fun holiday episode about Christmas witches was called for. I’m going to tell you about Gryla, Frau Perchta, Holda, Grye-Carling, and La Befana.

So lets get into shall we? Grab yourself a cup of tea, make sure the doors are locked and the sage is close by. I have a story to tell you.

Warning some graphic disembowelment will be discussed!

Resurrection Mary Part 2

This week, finally, I am bringing back our girl Resurrection Mary! There’s just so much with her and I just kept finding more and more. There has been decades of sightings and her story has morphed over time. Her story comes out of a little bit of a seedy area where there were a lot of crime and death so there is definitely some strong energies in the area. The thing is to is no one can fully pinpoint who Mary was either. So she has become a lot of things, different with each telling. A lost youth, some innocent energy trapped among all of the dark, to wonder the roadway of Archer Avenue.

The Sallie House

This week I’m doing a case that scared the hell out of me as a child and stayed with me throughout my life, the Sallie House. I remember watching all about it on Sightings at the time and following the case. Sallie is said to be a little girl spirit that haunts a house in Atchison, Kansas at 508 N. 2nd street. Sallie isn’t a nice spirit. In fact, she would move toys, start fires and physically attack the residents of the house. These attacks, in the form of bloody scratches would form in front of eyewitnesses, and were even caught live several times. So let’s get into shall we? Grab yourself a cup of tea, make sure the doors are locked and the sage is close by. I have a story to tell you.

La Llorona

Summary

This week I’m continuing the stories that scared the out of me so I’m telling you about the legend of La Llorona, the weeping woman. She is a famous spirit known in latin american cultures but has been gaining popularity in the past few years since she has started showing up in more populated areas usually caught on security cameras drifting through the streets.

The Wendigo

Summary

On this week’s episode I continue the spooky Halloween episodes with another one that gives me the heebie jeebies, the Wendigo. A wendigo is an indigenous American evil spirit of the forests of Canada but can sometimes be found in the northern states of Minnesota and Wisconsin and according to a story I found online right here on Pikes Peak, so that doesn’t make me very happy. It was said that there was once a hunter that got lost in the woods and resorted to cannibalism to survive. He was cursed for this and started having an insatiable taste for human flesh that corrupted his body and mind. The Wendigo has become pretty popular in pop culture today but according to native americans it is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly because it is pure evil. In fact one of the translations I found for Wendigo is “the evil spirit that devours mankind.”

Resurrection Mary Part 1

Summary

This week I’m telling you the tale of the one and only, Resurrection Mary from Chicago. Her story is the classic hitchhiking ghost tale and the lady in white story haunting the roadway where she was killed. But Mary is a little different from most. She is a huge cultural icon. Her story has captured the imagination of thousands of people. She’s the lost soul looking for a night of happiness but the weird thing with Mary, unlike a lot of phantom ladies out there people believe they know who she was. There is so much research into her origin story, of course there’s differing opinions but we will go into that later. There’s some people that genuine believe that they knew her in life. It’s all just so fascinating. So for today, I’m focusing on how people usually encounter her in a story that is told over and over again. So lets get into shall we? Grab yourself a cup of tea, make sure the doors are locked and the sage is close by. I have a story to tell you. — This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/MyHauntedLife/support
